Gland Expression

Most dogs and cats express their anal glands on their own with no problems when they have a bowel movement, but some pets need extra help. If you notice your pet "scooting" their butt on the floor, excessively licking or having a foul/fishy smell they may be having a gland issue and need them to be manually expressed. As an RVT, I am trained to express anal glands internally and fully - while most groomers only express externally.
