Hi there! My name Kort and I am the owner and sole Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at Empowered Pet Care. I have worked in a clinic setting as an RVT since 2020 and I am an enthusiastic advocate for pet wellness & pet parent education.

I can remember being obsessed with animals from a very young age. I could often be found sneaking off the the neighbor’s house to hang out with her and her collection of 20+ pets. I dreamed of becoming a zoo keeper (and still do) and I’ve never not had pets in my life! Caring for animals is my passion and I’m incredibly grateful to have created a career and now my own business around that.

I started in the workforce as a Software Engineering here in Dayton for about 8 years but I couldn’t see myself sitting in a cubicle everyday until retirement. So, I decided to return to school to follow my heart to pursue a degree in veterinary technology. I started my first clinic job during COVID and had to learn a lot fast! I fell in love right away and really enjoy the medicine and science behind it all. My areas of interest include surgery, dentistry, preventative care and internal medicine. I love ALL pets but have a soft spot for senior dogs and cats, having 4 of my own along with 2 ferrets an some chickens in the backyard.

I started EPC to fill a gap that I saw in the field of veterinary medicine - getting pets the care they need and deserve in a way that serves the pets, their owners and their veterinary care providers. I truly love helping pets and their people learn and understand more about their pet’s care. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members and become a part of their care team, no matter what life stage they are in!
